Our Trip to the Museum đď¸
Last Tuesday, our Year 3 class went on an exciting trip to the Auckland Museum. We left school at 9 o'clock in the morning on a big bus. Mrs Thompson and three parent helpers came with us.
When we arrived at the museum, we were greeted by a friendly guide named Sam. First, we explored the MÄori Court where we saw beautiful carvings and a huge waka. Sam told us stories about how MÄori people lived long ago. My favourite part was seeing the meeting house because it was so colourful and detailed.
After that, we went to the Volcanoes and Dinosaurs exhibition. We learned about Auckland's volcanic field and saw models of erupting volcanoes. It was a bit scary but really cool! We also saw huge dinosaur skeletons that made us feel tiny.
At lunchtime, we sat outside in the museum gardens and ate our packed lunches. Then we visited the gift shop where I bought a small carved greenstone necklace for my mum. We got back to school at 2:30 pm. It was the best school trip ever because I learned so many interesting things about New Zealand's history and nature!
