Passage 1

The science fair was held last wenesday and their were over fifty amazing projects on display. Me and my partner created a volcano that erupted with baking soda and vinager. It was'nt the most original idea but we worked really hard on the presentation. Our teacher mrs Johnson said it was one of the better volcano's she had seen in years.

We practiced are demonstration several times. To make sure everything would go smooth. The judjes were impressed with how we explained the chemical reaction between the acid and the base they asked us lots of question's about the science behind it.

Passage 2

Aotearoa New Zealand is home to many unique specie's of birds that cant be found nowhere else in the world. The kiwi which is our national bird are flightless and hunts for food at night. Unfortunatly, introduced predators like stoats and rats has threatened there survival.

Conservation efforts is helping to protect this precious birds. Predator-free sanctuarys have been established through out the country. Where native birds can breed safely, volunteers and scientists work together to moniter bird populations and they trap predators regular.

Passage 3

Climate change are affecting communities all around the world, including hear in New Zealand. Sea levels is rising coastal erosion is getting worse and extreme whether events are becoming more common. Scientists warn that if we don't take action soon the affects will be even more servere.

Many young people are taking a stand, they organise beach clean-ups plant trees and raise awareness about environmental issues. Its important that everyone does they're part to reduce carbon emissions and protect our planet for future generations.
